How does radiant panels heating work?
Warm water flows trough the radiant panels and emits its heat mostly as infrared radiation into the room. In doing so, the suspension height of the panels plays only a subordinate role. The infrared rays are heating up all the surfaces they hit. This principle is well known from nature. Cold - blooded animals, e.g. lizards, enjoy resting on sun- warmed stones. We humans also use this principle unconsciously. When it is slightly cooler, we prefer to stay, if possible, in the sun rather than in the shade, although the air temperature is nearly the same.
Even in winter at minus temperatures it is pleasantly warm in the sun. This is due to the fact that the heat radiation of the sun does not heat the air, but the surfaces it hits. Radiant Panels operate after the same principle. Up to 79% of the heating energy is emitted as radiant heat and thus heats up the radiated surfaces in the room: walls, floors, furniture and of course the people present in the room. Radiant heat is in general experienced as very pleasant. The heated surfaces also give heat to the room and ensure in this way a very even temperature distribution.
Why are radiant panels energy-efficient?
What is the impact of radiant heating on the environment?
Radiant panels are very environment friendly for a variety of reasons. In addition to the high energy efficiency and the associated CO2 savings, radiant panels have a very long service life. 30 years and more are not uncommon. Since they are nearly maintenance-free, there is only very less, if any, effort needed for maintenance during this long period of time. Radiant panels are made of steel and aluminium. These substances can be recycled and reused at any time. Furthermore, you are completely free in the selection of the fuel and therefore not tied to any fossil fuels. Radiant panels can also be combined well with heat pumps.
All this ensures sustainability and extremely low lifecycle costs!

Savings up to 40% ...
... against other common heating systems, for ex. warm air heaters are not a rarity.

Fast
payback
Even though the cost of a radiant ceiling heating system is higher than with many other heating systems, it pays off quickly.

Maintenance-free
Maintenance-free is only one of many other positive features of ceiling radiating panels.

Integrated lighting
Where heat is needed, light is usually also required.
